Suzuki piano lessons
in Boston, MA

Suzuki music instruction focuses on playing by ear, healthy use of the hand and arm, learning to play expressively from the very beginning, and incorporating music as a source of joy in one’s life. I teach students ages 3 through retired adults, beginner to advanced. All students work through the same introductory material (Suzuki book 1) and then we tailor material to the needs and goals of each particular student. Some students work through the Suzuki books and additional classical repertoire to become classical pianists, some learn to play covers of rock, pop, and R&B by ear, some write their own music, some learn to be excellent ensemble players. Most do at least a little of all these things.

Students are expected to engage with music every day, including practice at the piano daily or near-daily. Lessons are taught in students’ homes in the Boston or Newton areas. Due to my schedule as a full-time accompanist with Boston Ballet School, lessons are at present limited to weekday mornings.
